Codex Pet Generator

Describe a pet — or drop in an image — and CliPets generates a complete, 9-action Codex pet sprite you can install in seconds. No art skills, no sprite sheets to draw.

What it does

The generator turns a short description or a reference image into a finished Codex pet: a single spritesheet.webp with all 9 actions (idle, run, wave, jump, and more) plus a pet.json, matching the official Codex pet atlas exactly.

Preview every action right in the browser before you download, so you know what you're installing.

How to generate a Codex pet

1. Open the generator and pick Text or Image mode.

2. Describe your pet ("a tiny astronaut cat") or upload a reference image.

3. Choose a style — pixel, plush, sticker, or auto.

4. Hatch it. In under a minute you get an animated 9-action sprite.

5. Install it with one command, or download the files and drop them into ~/.codex/pets/.

Text or image — your choice

Text mode is great for original ideas. Image mode turns a photo or character art into a pixel pet — only the generated pet is published to the community, never your uploaded image.

FAQ

Is the Codex pet generator free?

Yes — you get free hatches every day. A small priority option lets you skip the queue if you want.

What do I get?

A spritesheet.webp (all 9 actions) and a pet.json, ready to install in the Codex desktop app.

Can I use my own photo?

Yes. Upload an image in Image mode. Only the generated pet is shared — never your original photo.

How do I install the generated pet?

Run npx clipets install <your-pet>, or download the two files into ~/.codex/pets/<name>/ and restart Codex.
