Privacy Policy

CliPets (“we”, “the site”) is an independent, developer-run project. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions: [email protected].

1. What we collect

Account email — when you sign in. We use passwordless login, so we store your email address but never a password.

Pets and prompts — the text or reference image you submit to hatch a pet, and the pets you generate (sprite + metadata).

Usage records — your hatch history, free-quota counters and priority-credit balance.

Payment records — order IDs and amounts. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.

Anonymous ID — if you use the site without signing in, a random ID is stored in your browser so your anonymous hatches can be tracked and later claimed.

2. How we use it

To authenticate you, run the pet generator, enforce fair-use quotas, process payments, and send login codes and essential service emails. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.

3. Browser storage & cookies

We use your browser's localStorage for essential functions only: a login token, your language preference, an anonymous ID and an in-progress hatch ID. These are not advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Our payment provider (Stripe) and network provider (Cloudflare) may set their own strictly-necessary cookies on their parts of the flow for security and fraud prevention.

4. Third parties we rely on

Stripe — payment processing. OpenAI — generates pet images from your prompt or reference image. Cloudflare — CDN, caching and security. MXroute — delivers our login and service emails. jsDelivr / GitHub — host some community pet assets. Each processes data only as needed to provide its part of the service.

5. Data retention

We keep your account and hatch data while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by emailing [email protected].

6. Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and object to certain processing. Email [email protected] and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

7. Children

CliPets is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect their data.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; we'll revise the date above when we do. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
